I'm belatedly posting a review of our 11/25 selection, purchase and installation experience of a combination of Hunter Douglas and Alta blinds for our new house. We are in a new Del Webb community and Michelle Moats was recommended by our Welcome Committee.  We scheduled a consultation with Michelle and another with the Costco contractor. We had no idea how to select blinds for an entire house and Michelle was by far the expert in helping explain the products, various options and the timing involved in having them made and installed. When both estimates came in, we knew we needed to determine our budget before proceeding. Advantage Blinds were our preferred option and Michelle was very willing to come back and work with us to figure out options that worked within our budget, what discounts were available and took considerable time measuring the windows. Honestly, she is one of the best sales women we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Bill arrived on a very icy winter day and installed all the blinds efficiently and professionally. Michael was patient as I explored all the options sharing some pros and cons  of the various options. In the end, we went with the clean look of Norman blinds and Hunter Douglas honeycomb cellular for added warmth.  I also have two motorized, programmable ones for hard to reach places and they are a wonderful addition.  The arrived quickly and installation was effortless. The blinds are PERFECT! I have not one complaint. I have only praises. The photo is my dining room window and it’s smaller than my living room window. Look how well the blinds are holding up. Fabrics, Patterns, & Textures

Select from hundreds of designer fabrics, including rich textures, bold prints, sheer, and light-filtering fabrics. If you wish, liners can be added for even more light control and privacy.

Shade Styles

There are many beautiful styles that are available for Roman Shades. These include:

Classic Roman-A traditional flat shade with a clean, crisp look. This style is highly recommended for fabrics with a pattern.

Relaxed Shade-This soft flowing shade lies flat when lowered but always has a gentle decorative “smile” at the bottom. Relaxed Roman shades work well with most fabrics.

Ribbed Pleat Shade-The Ribbed Pleat shade is a reversed Knife Pleat with the pockets to the front of the shade to further accent each pleat. Ribbed Pleat shades work best with solid or textured fabrics. Not recommended for fabrics with a pattern that will be interrupted by the pleats.

Hobbled Shade-Fuller in body, this style keeps its soft folds even when lowered. Support rods are concealed in the pockets at the back of each fold. Hobbled Roman shades work best with solid or textured fabrics. Not recommended for fabrics with a pattern that will be interrupted by the folds.

Pleated London Shade-The Pleated London Shade has decorative inverted pleats approximately 6-8” in from each side. Pleated London shades work best with solid or textured fabrics. Not recommended for fabrics with a pattern that will be interrupted by the folds.

Knife Pleat Shade-Doweled pockets on the back of the shade hold support rods and form decorative seams on the front of the shade. Knife Pleat shades work best with solid or textured fabrics. Not recommended for fabrics with a pattern that will be interrupted by the pleats.

OPTIONS and BENEFITS

Motorized

With motorization, you can raise or lower a roomful of shades with a press of a button. You can even operate the shades with a tablet or smartphone, and some systems can be programmed according to the schedules you set, even when you are away.

Cordless Lift

Move the shade to exactly where you want by simply pushing up or pulling down with your hand. Cordless shades are also an excellent option for homes with small children and pets.

Continuous Cord Loop

This system works on the principle of a pulley rotating the roller to raise and lower the shade. The loop is secured via a tensioner which provides enhanced child and pet safety, too.

Duo-Fold Controls

With duo-fold controls, the shade can be raised for the bottom or lowered from the top. This allows for excellent privacy, while allowing sunlight into the home.

Lining Options

Premium light-filtering lining is standard. Blackout lining is also available on most fabrics for enhance room darkening.

Edge Banding

Add a contrasting accent with a 2 ½” wide band in several designer colors.

Multiple Shades On One Headrail

Two-on-One & Three-on-One shades are mounted on a single common head rail.

Decorative Trim

A great finishing touch, decorative trim such as fringe, gimp, beads and tassels provide an eye catching
